Movie review: Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri

Cast: Kartik Aaryan, Ananya Panday, Jackie Shroff and Neena Gupta.

Director: Sameer Vidwans

Rating: 7/10

Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri revolves around Rehaan (Kartik Aaryan), a wedding planner who runs an agency called Hitched Forever with his single mother. His life takes an unexpected turn when he meets Rumi (Ananya Panday), an aspiring novelist. Their paths cross during a luxury yacht cruise in Croatia.

Despite initial friction, the two gradually fall in love. However, destiny has other plans. When Rehaan proposes, Rumi declines, even though she clearly wants to spend the rest of her life with him. What follows next forms the emotional core of the film.

Aaryan is consistently entertaining and once again proves that he has strong comic timing as well as the ability to handle dramatic moments with ease. Panday delivers one of her better performances and appears increasingly comfortable on screen. Their chemistry is warm and engaging, especially in the first half. Jackie Shroff and Neena Gupta are particularly likeable as the parents and add emotional depth to the story.

The film has a breezy and entertaining first half, with Rehan and Rumi’s first meeting setting the tone beautifully. The second half shifts into a more dramatic space but remains engaging. A standout moment is the hospital scene between Aaryan and Shroff, which is genuinely emotional. The tension leading up to this scene, including the conflict between the lead pair, is well handled.

The music fits the narrative perfectly. The title track, Tum Dono, and Muhd Ja Raahiye are highlights of the album. The Saat Samundar remake works better once the film is viewed in context, as the lyrics closely reflect the story and emotions of the characters.

Overall, Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri is an entertaining romantic drama with a soulful soundtrack, solid performances, and a feel-good storyline. It is definitely worth watching on the big screen
