Suspects arrested and charged for drug-dealing in two cases during police raids

Cape Town - Police have arrested a 20-year-old man in Bishop Lavis after a raid for drugs at a house in the area yielded tik, mandrax and cash.

Spokesperson Wesley Twigg said the man would be charged for dealing in drugs.

He said police followed up on information and confiscated a consignment of drugs, including five uncut packets of tik, 40 sachets of tik, 37 mandrax tablets and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Meanwhile, members of the Provincial Extortion Task Team searched a house in Langebaan on January 2 and confiscated 65 mylan tablets, 58 ecstasy tablets, 72 ecstasy MDMA tablets, 80 ecstasy capsules and 24 medium plastic packets containing magic mushrooms.

Twigg said three men aged between 19 and 34 were arrested and detained on a charge of dealing in drugs.

“Once charged the suspects are expected to make their court appearances in the Bishop Lavis and Vredenburg Magistrates’ courts respectively on the mentioned charges,” he said.
