The Sadafal Foundation, which is one of India's largest and oldest organisations dedicated to disseminating spiritual knowledge, will celebrate 15 years of its journey in South Africa by hosting a session on the "Power of the Mind".

The event, on Saturday at the Kendra Hall in Durban, will feature an ancient meditation, which will be led by Sant Naam Deo Ji Maharaj from India.

From May to September, Maharaj will be travelling to Africa, the UK, US, and Canada to also preach and impart the importance of "acceptance through diversity".

The foundation, known as Sadguru Shri Sadafal Deo Vihangam Yoga Sansthan (SSDVYS), has, through its social and spiritual initiatives, positively impacted millions of lives globally.

Over the past three decades, Maharaj has been at the core of founding a society built on the highest principles of human consciousness. Through leading the social wing of the SSDVYS, he has been working in the villages of Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Madhya Pradesh, where millions of people have benefited from the real essence of yoga.

Maharaj is also the founder of Abhyas School of Yoga.

Through this school, he imparts the universal knowledge of the real essence of yoga.

In a statement, he said yoga could not be restricted to just the physical postures, kriyas, and mudras. Maharaj said the stream of yoga extended beyond the boundaries of present-day yoga, and the message that the real essence of yoga wanted to provide and help you with was "how you could find yourself and do what is needed".

The event, from 5pm to 7.30pm, will include devotional songs and a gala dinner. To attend, RSVP 082 839 5180.
