CHATSWORTH residents can look forward to another lively community outing as the much-loved Starry Starry Night Market returns to the Nelson Mandela Community Youth Centre on Sunday, December 21.
The market opens at 5pm and carries on well into the night, creating a relaxed, festive atmosphere that families have come to enjoy year after year.
Designed as an accessible outing for all ages, the market is free to enter and offers a vibrant mix of more than 80 indoor and outdoor stalls. Visitors can browse a wide selection of crafts, clothing, décor, artisanal products, and festive gifts, while the food court promises everything from local favourites to global street-style flavours.
One of the standout attractions of the night is the open-air entertainment area, where live bands, DJs, and enthusiastic dancers set the tone. This year, a special spotlight falls on Midnight Avenue, an energetic youth band composed of remarkably young musicians who have been gaining attention for their talent and stage presence. Their performance is expected to be a highlight of the evening, adding a fresh and youthful spark to the programme.
Organiser Clive Pillay says the market is all about creating a safe, welcoming space for families, neighbours, and visitors to come together during the festive season. Whether you arrive looking for a unique gift, a new food experience, or simply a place to unwind outdoors on a warm Durban night, the Starry Starry Night Market offers something memorable for everyone.
Stall bookings and enquiries may be directed to Clive Pillay on 061 429 2574.
