MEMBERS of the Nazareth Baptist Church Ebuhleni are undertaking a three-day annual pilgrimage to the holy mountain of Khenana, north of Durban, led by His Holiness Mduduzi Unyazi Lwezulu Shembe.
Among the pilgrims is Prince Ishwar Ramlutchman Mabheka Zulu, who is participating in the 70km walk from the church's headquarters in Inanda (Shembe village).
The pilgrimage, which started on Sunday, said Ramlutchman Mabheka Zulu, was not only a test of resilience but also a celebration of faith rooted in cultural heritage.
"The journey serves as a reminder of the shared values that bind individuals together. Members of the Unyazi LweZulu Shembe community have played an instrumental role in organising the pilgrimage, ensuring that everything is meticulously coordinated and executed with love. Their dedication to fostering social cohesion stands as a testament to the strength and unity of the community."
He saluted His Holiness Unyazi LweZulu Shembe for his love and dedication in fostering a good relationship with the Indian community and being a beacon of hope for millions of people.
The church, founded in 1910, is based on various values including African, traditional, cultural and moral. The pilgrimage will end tomorrow.
Ramlutchman Mabheka Zulu’s participation reiterates the continued importance of such events in fostering mutual respect and understanding among individuals from different walks of life.
