ON VALENTINE'S Day, while many chose to bask in the warmth of love through flowers and candle-lit dinners, the KZN International Business Association (Kiba) took a different path - one that led straight to the hearts of children at Addington Hospital.

In a display of community spirit, Kiba members rallied together to repaint and rejuvenate the hospital’s children’s ward, transforming it into a vibrant sanctuary aimed at uplifting both young patients and their families.

The team also spoiled the children with teddy bears, chocolates, and love.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, celebrated artist Nanda Soobben will sprinkle artistic magic by painting murals that depict themes of hope, joy, and creativity.

For Kiba, this initiative reflects a deeper purpose: business with heart.Kiba president, Omie Singh, said: "Valentine’s Day is about love, and for us, love means action. As business leaders, we have a responsibility to extend our impact beyond profit. When we invest in our community, especially our children, we invest in the future of our province."

Kiba comprises a network of entrepreneurs and industry leaders who believe collaboration extends beyond boardrooms.

"True leadership means showing up for community, creating meaningful change, and using collective influence to uplift those who need it most."

Kiba invites corporates, SMEs, and change-makers across KZN to partner in future outreach initiatives.

Whether through sponsorship, volunteering, or collaborative CSI projects, Singh said every business has room to make a tangible difference.

"Because when business meets compassion, everyone wins."
