The 2026 Durban Festival of Chariots (Ratha-Yatra) will take place over the Easter weekend, from April 3 to 6, at the Bay of Plenty lawns on the Durban beachfront.

Hosted by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, this free cultural event will feature music, dance, theatre and complimentary vegetarian meals.

Central to the festival is the chariot processions. Three 15-metre-high chariots, decorated with colourful canopies and hundreds of flower garlands, will be drawn by hand on Friday from 11am from South Beach, and along the promenade towards the Bay of Plenty festival grounds.

The festival commences at 11am daily and ends at 9pm.
