As the sacred festival of Akshaya Tritiya approaches this Sunday, the Chinmaya Mission South Africa invites the public to join this age-old tradition of generosity.
The term "Akshaya" translates to "never-diminishing".
It is believed that any act of charity performed on this auspicious day brings eternal merit and prosperity to the donor. By sponsoring a meal or contributing to the Chinmaya Mission SA's Nourish to Flourish (N2F) fund, you help ensure that Pujya Swami Abhedananda's vision of a hunger-free Durban continues to thrive.
Your support can turn a meal into a miracle. To donate, learn more about the initiative or make an online contribution, visit www.n2f.co.za.
Additionally, grains like sugar beans and moong dhal can be delivered to the facility at 9 Trisula Avenue, Arena Park, Chatsworth, either physically or via online delivery services from leading supermarkets.
The Chinmaya Mission South Africa proves that compassion knows no boundaries. Their flagship initiative, N2F, has become a vital lifeline for the city, serving people of all races and religions.
The project is the realised vision of Pujya Swami Abhedananda, the Acharya of Chinmaya Mission South Africa. Under his guidance, the initiative has scaled up to provide daily sustenance to 2,000 underprivileged people across the greater Durban area.
More than just a meal, the program offers dignity and care to those facing the harshest of circumstances. Central to this massive undertaking is Chinmaya Annapurna Devi, a spiritual sanctuary dedicated to the Goddess of Nourishment and a state of the art industrial cooking facility.
Located in Chatsworth, this facility serves as the heart of the operation, where meals are prepared with the spirit of Seva (selfless service).
