3 PSL games you shouldn’t have missed this weekend

This past weekend all Premier Soccer League (PSL) teams were in action with  log leaders who have been slanted as ‘new’ PSL champions after 18 games dropped two valuable points.

Kaizer Chiefs who are at the top of the table dropped the points against Black Leopards at Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday after taking a lead through striker Samir Nurkovic in the early stages of the first half. The Thohoyandou based side refused to go down without a fight as Mokgakolodi Ngele equalised through a stunning free-kick.

The Naturena side head coach Ernst Middendorp said his side would have been comfortable playing in the evening as hot conditions at Thohoyandou Stadium in Limpopo proved difficult for the visitors. Chiefs were held to a 1 - 1 draw by the struggling Lidoda Duvha. 

A second placed Mamelodi Sundowns who were licking their wounds after suffering a 1-0 defeat at the hands of the Buccaneers on Wednesday night managed to bounced back to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Supersport United.

 The Brazilians’ victory over their arch-rivals Matsatsantsa reduced the gap between Abafana be Style and log leaders Kaizer Chiefs by seven points.

Meanwhile, the battle to remain on the top flight league was also on the spot light over the weekend. Amazulu remained in danger of the Absa Premiership relegation after suffering a defeat from KwaZulu-Natal rivals Maritzburg United on Friday evening.

Usuthu found themselves at no 16 after dropping maximum three points.
