Durban - The northern parts of Durban have been rocked by at least two reports of bestiality in a few days.

In one of the incidents, Durban private investigator Brad Nathanson posted on his Facebook page, Brad Nathanson Investigations, about a video of a man having sex with a sedated female dog.

Nathanson said “no words to describe this”, referring to the incident, in his post on Friday.

He had asked readers of his post to help him out.

“Every time I am exposed to the vilest thing I have ever been exposed to, the human being ensures that things can always get worse,” Nathanson said.

“In my 42-year career, I find myself repulsed beyond repulsed.”

Nathanson asked people not to read further unless they wished to share in the way he felt.

“I need to interview this man - Yes, this is a man whose initials are VR. He works in Umhlanga,” Nathanson said.

“I have reason to believe that VR may know the videographer of a homemade video that was sent to an organisation that takes care of lost/abandoned/abused pets. The video is of a man having intercourse with a female dog that has been sedated. I have seen the video. Some things, one cannot unsee.

“I honestly have no words. Please help me to be a voice for these innocent, vulnerable and now sexually exploited animals. Help me to identify VR,” Nathanson said.

He asked people to call him directly on 083 250 2007.

Earlier last week, Reaction Unit South Africa (Rusa) spokesperson Prem Balram reported that a man had sex with his aunt’s dog.

Balram said Rusa was in possession of pictures and screengrabs from social media of a man believed to be having sex with several dogs in Durban and surrounding areas.

“A criminal case has been registered earlier today (Tuesday) by Cinderella Animal Rescue after the man informed a person on WhatsApp that he had sex with his aunt's dog. During a conversation, the man forwarded face pictures and several nudes. The identity of the person has not been established and the pictures cannot be confirmed to be that of the suspect who is believed to be from Phoenix in KwaZulu-Natal,” Balram said.

“In a separate chat with a female attempting to gain information and his location, the suspect declined to have sex with her dog explaining that he was not interested in smaller size breeds. The woman had a Chinese Chow Chow crossbreed.”

Balram said several animal lovers had sought assistance from Rusa earlier last week after the man allegedly placed online advertisements seeking female dogs to have sex with.

Balram said investigations were continuing.

Police spokesperson Constable Thenjiswa Ngcobo said: “A case of bestiality was opened for investigation by Phoenix SAPS after the complainant received a disturbing video.”

“The matter is still under investigation.”
