Venice was buzzing this week as a wave of A-listers touched down for Amazon owner Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s ultra-luxurious wedding celebration.

The Kardashian-Jenner crew was among the first to arrive in style.

Kris Jenner and her longtime partner Corey Gamble made a fashionable entrance by water taxi at Marco Polo Airport.

Not far behind were Kim and Khloé Kardashian, also pulling up canal-side, looking effortlessly glam.

Kendall Jenner, rocking her usual off-duty model vibes, and Kylie Jenner, the beauty mogul, were both spotted hopping onto a sleek boat near the Gritti Palace hotel.

The guest list only got more star-studded from there.

Oprah Winfrey, joined by her BFF Gayle King, made an entrance, followed by Tom Brady, actor Orlando Bloom, and Ivanka Trump with Jared Kushner in tow.

They were seen arriving at some of Venice’s swankiest spots like the Aman and St. Regis hotels.

Leonardo DiCaprio was also in town, accompanied by his model girlfriend Vittoria Ceretti.

Other famous faces spotted around the city included fashion legend Diane von Fürstenberg, Usher, Bill Gates, and even Queen Rania of Jordan.

This three-day wedding bash is reportedly worth millions, and the guest list makes it clear that it’s nothing short of a mega-event.

However, locals haven’t exactly rolled out the red carpet for the stars.

Protesters, ranging from student groups and housing activists to Greenpeace, rallied under the slogan “No Space for Bezos.”

Some even dropped huge banners off the Rialto Bridge and St. Mark’s Square, and launched a Bezos lookalike dummy floating down the Grand Canal, clutching wads of fake money.

Venetians have reason to be annoyed. The city welcomed over six million tourists last year, and residents say big events like this just add to the pressure, pushing up rent, overcrowding the streets, and putting tourists ahead of locals.

Still, Venice remains a favourite spot for celebrity weddings.

François-Henri Pinault and Salma Hayek tied the knot there back in 2009, and who could forget George and Amal Clooney’s dreamy 2014 wedding?
