In the continuation of his sex trafficking and racketeering trial in New York, music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs' most recent ex-girlfriend, referred to as Jane Doe, took the stand to recount the decline of their relationship over three tumultuous years.
Jane’s gripping testimony shed light on severe emotional and physical abuse, alongside allegations of coercive sexual encounters that have drawn comparisons to former girlfriend Cassie Ventura's recent civil suit against Combs.
Jane recalled her experiences, saying that approximately 90% of her time with Combs was spent at “hotel nights”, drug-fuelled orgies during which Jane claims she was manipulated and blackmailed into participating.
She said when she read Ventura's lawsuit which detailed similar acts of abuse, she fainted: “I feel like I’m reading about my own sexual trauma,” Jane testified.
She also described how Combs controlled aspects of her life, including her housing arrangements, stating: “Like the home was being used as leverage. This made me feel like I had to perform.”
She said she felt “disgusted” with herself after participating in the "hotel nights".
Among her most distressing accounts was recalling an incident that resulted in what she characterised as a savage beating at the hands of Combs.
Following an argument where she called out his inappropriate behaviour and labelled him a “pedophile”, Jane described feeling terrified as he stalked her through the apartment.
“He kicked in four doors while I tried to flee,” she recalled.
The courtroom also listened to text messages exchanged between Jane and Combs, in which she said: “I don’t want to be used and locked in a room to perform and fulfill your fantasies, I’m coming to the realisation of what this really is ... My heart is really in this and it’s breaking. I don’t want to play this role in your life anymore.”
Further along, Jane testified that in September 2023, Combs arranged a trip to New York, where he promised that they would go out to dinner and go shopping. He also told her to bring her passport, implying there might be an international trip.
Instead, Combs had arranged "entertainment" for the night, texting Jane, "I have a surprise if that’s okay."
Jane said she spent the majority of her time in New York with Combs holed up in a hotel room, having sex with male escorts.
After the trip, she messaged Combs: "I’m not a porn star. I’m not an animal ... It’s been three years of me having to f**k strangers. I’m tired."
Jane also messaged Combs saying that she needed a "break, spiritually and mentally".
Earlier in the trial, Ventura alleged that Combs used violence and threats of blackmail to coerce her into “freak-offs” which closely resemble the “hotel nights” described by Jane.
Combs has pleaded not guilty to charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. If convicted, he could spend the rest of his life behind bars.
Jane's testimony will resume on Tuesday, June 10.
