She is the drama, she is the moment!
Rapper Cardi B unveils a star-studded feature list for her highly anticipated sophomore album “Am I The Drama”.
The “Ring” hitmaker has been keeping busy, from court appearances to an eventful album rollout.
The mother of three has been on a roll promoting her upcoming album in the streets and reaching out to fans to buy her project, and also engaging with fans in the streets during her meet-and-greets.
Partnering with music streaming platform Spotify, the Grammy award-winning rapper took to X on September 15 and unveiled all the talented artists that are set to feature on her album with a caption that reads “Who else is the drama?”
South Africa’s very own Tyla has officially been confirmed as a feature on “Am I The Drama”.
After months of speculation from fans, it’s not a drill. Even though the track list has not been revealed, it’s certain that the queen of “popiano” will be on the album, serving vocals as usual.
Making a return is none other than Kehlani, the “Can You Blame Me” singer who was featured on Cardi B’s debut album “Invasion of Privacy”.
On the other hand, Megan Thee Stallion has also previously teamed up with Cardi B on “WAP”, while Selena Gomez has been featured on the same track as her in DJ Snake’s viral hit “Taki Taki”.
The iconic Janet Jackson is also on the feature list, something many did not expect, and Cardi B is reportedly the first female artist to have Jackson feature on their album.
For several weeks, her album promotions have been going viral. She chose unconventional ways, such as setting up as a bootleg seller on the streets of New York, promoting her album at the train station, and even hosting a pop-up shop.
During an interview with Jennifer Hudson, the star revealed that she is overwhelmed and that the album rollout has been like “pushing out another baby”, especially dealing with it during her lawsuit case.
Earlier this month, the rapper won a civil trial against former security guard Emani Ellis stemming from allegations that Cardi B assaulted her during a dispute on the fifth floor of a Beverly Hills medical building seven years ago. All 12 jurors agreed she did not hit Ellis or scratch her face.
“It was completely completed, and this is what’s missing out there. I touch on everything I wanted to touch.” Cardi B told Hudson, adding that she will also be touring in support of the album soon.
Additionally, in a conversation with Kelly Rowland, she let fans in on more about the album, revealing that she will be doing some singing on a track with Gomez.
“I really feel like my album has a little bit of everything,” she said.
Summer Walker, Lizzo and Cash Cobain are among other artists featured on “Am I The Drama?” set for release September 19.
