The long awaited announcement that Hey Neighbour 2025 will not be taking place has finally been confirmed.
Organisers have confirmed what many netizens have been suspecting Hey Neighbour 2025 is cancelled.
Organisers explained that the music festival will return in 2026, allowing them adequate time to secure funding and to build an experience that captures the events spirit and standard.
The first edition of Hey Neighbour blew festival goers away, from the lineup which was an infusion of local and international bringing Kendrick Lamar and H.E.R to Mzansi was a moment.
But this year’s festival struggled to take off, the late announcement of the 2025, raised the first eyebrow and then organisers announced that the date for the festival had been postponed.
Originally scheduled for August, organisers have announced that it will now happen in December with no exact date announced and now it has been cancelled.
Glen Netshipise from Hey Neighbour said: “Our promise has always been to throw the ultimate neighbourhood block party, one that lives up to the incredible loyalty of our Hey Neighbour family.
“Rushing the process with current constraints would compromise the very heart of what makes this event special. This difficult but necessary decision allows us the time to build a solid foundation for a spectacular celebration in 2026. We’re committed to creating a festival worth the wait.”
Ticket holders will be contacted by organisers directly with further details on how to claim their refunds and should ticket holders which to keep them for the next festival in 2026 that is an option.
