Cardi B announces long-awaited album ‘Am I the Drama?’ seven years after her debut

Finally! Cardi B has revealed the title and release date of her long-awaited sophomore album. 

Titled “Am I the Drama?”, the album is scheduled to drop later this year on September 19, nearly seven years after her groundbreaking debut, “Invasion of Privacy”, captivated audiences and critics alike.

The Grammy-winning rapper took to social media to share the news, unveiling the album cover which features her striking a pose amidst a flock of crows. 

This startling imagery sets the tone for what fans can expect from her return to the limelight. Just last week, Cardi B marked her re-entry into the music scene with the release of “Outside”, her first solo single in over a year. 

The track, produced by Charlie Heat and HeyMicki with DJ SwanQo contributing, served as an electrifying glimpse of her evolution as an artist. 

On Sunday, June 22, Cardi B hinted at being in “album mode.” She shared an introspective video on Instagram, reflecting on the journey that has brought her to this crucial moment in her career. 

“Seven years and the time has come. Seven years of love, light and loss,” she proclaimed. “Seven years I gave them grace, but now I give them hell. I learned power’s not giving, it’s taking. I’m shedding feathers and no more tears. I’m not back, I’m beyond. I’m not your villain, I’m your karma. The time is here. The time is now.”
