We are all singing Boyz II Men’s It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye as we realise that this season of Big Brother Africa comes to an end.

The title The Chase is apt as we saw a lot of chases throughout the three months that contestants stayed in the house. It was obvious that the producers were looking for romantic relationships as they planted incentives that would put cupid to shame.

These included private rooms, accolades for romantic gestures and raunchy weekend parties. In fact, the show had so many good-looking contestants you could have taken it for a modelling show. This worked in the producers’ favour as a lot of love interests were developed during the season.

We have seen Hakeem and Cleo and O’Neal and Feza fall for each other.

If you look at how Goldie carried on with Prezzo and after last year’s season, until her untimely death, then this show is on the right track.

We may just be seeing a few weddings.

WORDS FROM THE DEPARTED

This has to be the sweetest farewell ever. It was sad that South Africa’s only hope, Angelo, was kicked out, but then again he didn’t seem to be a favourite among remaining contestants.

Joining him was Ethiopia’s Bimp, who also was not a huge contender. Interestingly they were both content with being kicked out of the show at the 11th hour.

“I feel like a winner,” said Angelo.

“The reception I got from my country was enough to make me realise that I had presented myself positively.”

While Bimp accepted the result, he was not about to hide that he would have preferred to win.

“It is not the best thing to come out at this point. I believe we all had a good chance of winning, but then again there will only be one winner,” added the Ethiopian.

Now moving on from this experience the two friends want to milk this exposure and do as much as they can with it in the outside world.

“The possibilities are endless. I would like to get involved with activations and perhaps be on the cover of Men’s Health. I plan to go to the gym and be good enough to do just that. I also plan to travel across Africa,” said Angelo.

Bimp is looking forward to a lot of doors opening as soon as he returns to Ethiopia. His greatest passion is having a united Africa.

When asked who they thought should win the show, the two men spoke vehemently about the contestant they didn’t want to see take the crown.

“I hope Elikem does not get it because he is just too arrogant and I would hate the person who represents Africa to be someone too full of themselves,” said Bimp. Angelo concurred.

They agreed that Nigeria’s Melvin should win.

WAY TO GO

This one is for Big Brother Africa and the team behind the scenes. This turned out to be a very exciting season with a lot fewer negatives than in previous years. The online aspect of the show also added value.

MOEMISH

What was up with Angelo forcing himself on the dance floor with the guest artist?

We all know he doesn’t know her like that and so for him to come and rub his manhood on her behind in front of all those people was a little disrespectful.

WHAT FATE HOLDS

The final fantastic five include Ghana’s Elikem, Nigeria’s Melvin and Beverly, Zambia’s Cleo and Namibia’s Dillish.

There are two ways that this will go. Let’s forget the girls, they don’t stand a chance here. The competition is really between Elikem and Melvin.

While Melvin looks like the obvious winner, we best not forget that Nigeria will split its vote between him and Beverly. This would give Elikem a clear lead.

Much as I also don’t want him to win, this is looking like Elikem’s race.
