The first exit of “Big Brother Mzansi” season 6 has arrived earlier than many viewers expected.

Marcia “Cia” Morata has officially left the Bazozwa house after raising concerns about her health and emotional well-being, making her the first housemate to depart since the season began.

In a statement released at midnight, “Big Brother Mzansi” confirmed Cia’s exit from the competition.

The statement read: “Marcia ‘Cia’ Morata has left the ‘Big Brother Mzansi’ Bazozwa house. She is the first housemate to exit the show since the season began on Sunday, 11 January 2026.”

According to the show’s producers, the decision was made following events that unfolded over several hours. On Thursday, Cia became emotional and began crying in the house.

Earlier the same day, after a scheduled yoga session, she told Big Brother that she was not feeling well and requested assistance. She was given immediate support and later met with the onsite psychologist for further assessment.

The statement continued: “After this process, and in the best interest of her well-being, it was decided that she should leave the Big Brother house. Cia will continue to receive the support she needs after leaving the competition.”

The MultiChoice Group and the producers of the show added that they remain committed to the care and well-being of all housemates and wished Cia well in her future.

Cia’s exit has sparked conversation across social media, with viewers sharing mixed reactions.

One user wrote, “Yoo, it’s really bad for her, but I wish all the applicants for the show knew that mental health is important before even applying, because some people who are ready for the show don’t get to respond to.”

Another user commented, “And people were so unkind, saying it’s a strategy.”

A third added, “Being in the same room with people of different personalities can be draining, I don’t blame her.”

Cia, 30, is from Mamelodi in Pretoria, Gauteng. She entered the house as a professional teacher who believed her life experience would give her an advantage in the game.

In her pre-show profile, she said, “I am a professional teacher who is emotionally intelligent. Dealing with challenges in the house will help me secure the big prize."

"My love language is physical touch, and if I find a potential in the house, I will go for it. Words of affirmation are also very important.”
