Spicy Spaghetti Bolognese

2 large chopped onions
1kg mince of your choice
3 tbs olive oil
1/2 tsp turmeric
1 tbs chilli powder (optional)
2 tsp dhania jeera powder
2 tsp crushed garlic
2 bay leaves
250ml tomato puree
500ml stock of your choice
1 x 400g can diced tomatoes
1 tsp dried oregano

Fry the onions and mince of your choice in the olive oil. Add the turmeric, chilli powder (optional), dhania jeera powder, crushed garlic and bay leaves. Brown the mince thoroughly.
Add the tomato puree, stock of your choice, can diced tomatoes and dried oregano to the mince and bring to the boil.
Reduce the heat to low and simmer for about an hour until the sauce thickens to your liking. Season to taste and serve with spaghetti or any pasta of your choice (cook as per the packet directions).
It is perfect as a side dish for any meat. It can also be tossed through pasta for a vegetarian version.
