I AM 28-years-old from vibrant Durban. By day, I work full-time in the cargo security industry. But if you ask me what truly lights me up, it’s connecting with people - something I discovered during my years in recruitment. Helping others find purpose and confidence has been one of the most fulfilling parts of my career.
Outside of work, I have a deep passion for beauty, makeup, and fashion - passions I’ve recently turned into a side hustle. I’m a firm believer in creating multiple streams of income, both for financial freedom and to nurture creativity.
Family means everything to me. I have three younger siblings, and losing one of them recently changed my life in ways I’m still learning to express. It reminded me to value each day and to be a role model - not just to my siblings, but to every woman still learning to choose herself.
I’m engaged to my high school sweetheart, and we will marry this December after a decade together.

I’m often asked about my everyday makeup routine, so here it is:
- Prime face with SPF-infused primer
- Prime eyelids with concealer and set with translucent powder
- Apply a neutral/brown eyeshadow
- Line the lashline with black eyeliner
- Apply winged eyeliner (optional)
- Neutralise pigmentation with a colour corrector
- Fill brows with a brow pencil
- Apply foundation
- Contour face with bronzer
- Apply blush from temples down to cheeks
- Highlight high points of the face
- Apply translucent setting powder
- Apply mascara
- Line lips with brown lipliner and add lipstick
- Set the entire face with setting spray
This routine is not just about looking good - it’s about feeling good. It’s an act of self-care and self-respect.
That mindset inspired me to launch a social media page, @intheworkingworld, where I share tips on makeup, fashion, recruitment, and great local deals. I also recently hosted an event to educate women on makeup products and routine, and I will soon be hosting another for Women's Month to get like-minded ladies together and empower one another.
Too often, we stop taking care of ourselves as life gets busy. But how we show up matters. Make time for yourself. Invest in yourself because how you feel starts with how you see yourself.
