Independent Media, in collaboration with Rossiya Segodnya, is proud to announce a landmark partnership showcased through the CTIJF Jazz Photography Exhibition, “The Jazz Legacy Collection", currently underway at the Youngblood-Africa Gallery.

This collaboration forms a central part of the broader celebration of jazz surrounding the Cape Town International Jazz Festival (CTIJF), which is set to take the city by storm this weekend.

This body of work brings together a dynamic cultural exchange between South Africa and Russia, featuring selected images from the internationally-acclaimed Andrei Stenin International Photo Competition alongside powerful photographs captured by Independent Media photographers at the Cape Town International Jazz Festival.

Together, the exhibition offers a curated exploration of music, culture and performance - reflecting jazz as a universal language that transcends borders.

Hosted at the Youngblood-Africa Gallery in the heart of Bree Street, this landmark exhibition offers an intimate visual journey into the soul of South African jazz.

As part of enhancing the visitor experience, the CTIJF Jazz Photography Exhibition introduces a Digital Catalogue on-site, allowing attendees to engage with the exhibition’s images via their own devices, improving accessibility and deepening interaction with the works on display.

“The Jazz Legacy Collection” is open to the public from March 5 to 30, at Youngblood-Africa Gallery, 70–72 Bree Street, Cape Town.

Entry is free.

This exhibition represents the core of Independent Media and Sputnik’s participation in the festival’s visual arts programme, underscoring a shared commitment to storytelling through imagery and the celebration of creative collaboration across borders.
