An evening of celebration, culture and storytelling unfolded at the Suncoast CineCentre on Thursday as guests gathered for a unique triple celebration hosted by the Avalon Group. First, acclaimed South African writer, and POST columnist, Fakir Hassen celebrated the release of 15 new digital books, bringing his impressive body of work to 100 published titles. Second, Hassen and his wife, Zarina, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. And third, it was the 87th anniversary of the Avalon Group, a pioneer in SA's cinema exhibition industry since 1939.
