The Honourable eThekwini mayor: Councillor Cyril Xaba
Dear Sir,
As a taxpaying resident of Sparfield Avenue, Earlsfield, I am writing to you to raise a concern regarding the ongoing water leak repairs and the subsequent condition of the roads in Earlsfield, Newlands West.
While I appreciate the efforts made to address water leaks, the overall management of these repairs have been highly unsatisfactory.
In several instances, holes have been dug to carry out the necessary work, but these sites have not been properly restored afterward. This has resulted in hazardous road conditions, inconvenience for residents, and potential damage to vehicles.
The lack of timely and adequate reinstatement of these areas reflects poor co-ordination and oversight. As a resident, it is frustrating to see infrastructure left in a compromised state for extended periods, with little communication or visible progress.
I kindly request that the affected areas in Earlsfield be urgently inspected, specifically Sparfield Avenue.
All open or poorly-repaired sites be properly restored as a matter of priority.
Measures be implemented to improve the management and completion of such repair works, going forward
I trust that this matter will receive the urgent attention it deserves, and I look forward to a prompt response outlining the steps that will be taken to resolve these issues.
BALA PILLAY
