Angel Reese has made history, becoming the first athlete to strut the runway for the iconic Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.

American professional basketball player Angel Reese has been announced as the first-ever pro athlete to grace the iconic Victoria’s Secret runway.
On Thursday, October 9, the brand revealed on Instagram that they have welcomed the WNBA star to walk for their iconic and glamorous fashion show.
“Angel Reese, welcome to the runway. The first professional athlete angel. Major is an understatement,” they wrote.
The 23-year-old is scheduled to strut the runway on Thursday, October 15, alongside famous and iconic top models including Alex Consani, Adriana Lima, Anok Yai, Yumi Nu and Joan Smalls.
During an interview with “People”, Reese expressed how proud she is to be the first pro athlete to grace the iconic runway.
“I hope I can inspire women and girls everywhere and remind them that we can dominate in our field but also chase our goals outside of it - and for me, that’s getting to walk down fashion and entertainment’s most iconic runway,” she said.
She further added how excited she is to be swapping the sneakers with heels and she has manifested this opportunity for a while now.
“I literally could not stop smiling! It’s such a surreal and full-circle moment - just last year I was in the audience manifesting being on that runway, completely inspired and in awe of all the powerful women walking down the runway, and now I get to return as an Angel.
“This will be an unforgettable night that I’ll forever be grateful for,” Reese said.
Reese also took to social media to express her excitement over this historic moment and shared that she is finally stepping into her dream.
“Stepping into a dream: From Angel to a Victoria Secret ANGEL. I’m finally getting my wings. I’ll be walking the Victoria’s Secret 2025 runway show for the first time, and it feels like destiny. Wings on heels ready… Catch me on the runway,” she excitedly shared.
The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show is scheduled to take place on Thursday, October 15, in New York and will be streamed live on Prime Video.
