Pink people 'walk all over cancer’

Mitchell’s Plain cancer survivors receive food parcels from Ashraful Aid, an international humanitarian organisation.

Mitchell’s Plain residents from all walks of life coloured Westridge Gardens in their pink attire to raise awareness about cancer.

Members of the Women Walk to Wellness group held its second annual cancer fund-raiser on Thursday October 24.

The non-profit company ran 5km and 10km fun walks themed “Let’s walk all over cancer”.

Cancer survivors received food parcels from Ashraful Aid, an international humanitarian organisation.

Funds were raised with the sale of refreshments, pink merchandise and donations.

The event also gathered various fitness groups and community organisations in solidarity with their members who care for cancer patients, are living with the disease and who have lost loved ones to the illness.
