The Hawks recovered over R190 000 worth of drugs

TWO suspects, aged 38 and 49, have been arrested by the Hawks in a major drug bust on the KZN north coast.
Authorities seized heroin and drug paraphernalia worth R190,000, along with a Toyota Urban Cruiser valued at R450,000 that was used for drug transportation.
The suspects are due to appear in court on November 27.
Yesterday (Tuesday), members of the Hawks from the Port Shepstone Serious Organised Crime Investigation Unit, together with the KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) Counter Narcotics and the Durban Metro Police Drug Team arresed two suspects aged 38 and 49, for dealing in drugs.
Warrant Officer Sibu Ncane, spokesperson for the Hawks in KZN, said the suspects were caught after the Hawks received intelligence about a drug delivery, and intercepted the vehicle in the Ballito area.
He said the drugs were found in an e-hailing vehicle.
“One suspect led police to the supplier’s home in Groutville, where heroin and drug paraphernalia worth R190 000 were seized. The suspects were placed under arrest and charged with dealing in drugs.
“The the police confiscated a Toyota Urban Cruiser valued at R450 000, which was utilised for drug transportation,” he said.
Major-General Lesetja Senona, provincial head of the Hawks in KZN commended the members for their good work.
