DURBAN security boss, Ferrel Govender, who is accused of killing a Mount Edgecombe businessman, was denied bail in the Durban Magistrate's Court this morning.
Govender, 41, the group CEO of Pro Secure, brought a bail application based on new facts before the court last month.
The father of three, together with his brother, Darren Govender, 36, were charged with the murder of Shailen Singh earlier this year.
The 32-year-old owner of Shails Trans, a logistics company, was shot dead while seated in his vehicle in a restaurant's parking lot in Meridian Drive, Umhlanga, on December 29.
The brothers handed themselves over to police on January 1.
it alleged that the motive for the killing was due to a “love relationship”.
Singh was being accused of having an affair with Ferrel’s girlfriend.
Ferrel was denied bail during the initial bail application heard earlier this year.
His brother was granted R200 000 bail.
In handing his ruling, Magistrate Kevin Broughton said he found that interest of justice weighed heavy against Govender's application and that there were no exceptional circumstances.
