A FORTUNATE player in KwaZulu-Natal has struck gold, winning the life-altering Lotto Plus 1 jackpot of over R5.9 million in Draw 2597, which took place on Wednesday, November 26.
The winning ticket was purchased at a Shoprite Checkers in Vryheid, where a modest wager of just R20 - via the Quick Pick selection method - changed one player's life forever.
In a statement Charmaine Mabuza, the CEO of Ithuba, the operator of the National Lottery, said: "We extend our warmest congratulations to the jackpot winner. We're eagerly awaiting their claim and look forward to welcoming them into our secure winner-services process to receive their multi-million-rand prize. We also urge winners from the smaller divisions to come forward. There are nine participants who have won R7.041.00 each. Every win matters, especially with the holiday season upon us."
