The eThekwini Municipality has confirmed that all 23 beaches in Durban are open and safe for swimming, just in time for the festive season.
This announcement comes after the completion of the latest water quality tests, reassuring both residents and visitors that they can enjoy the sun, sand, and surf.

In a statement on its social media page on Facebook, the city said it was steadily advancing restoration efforts, bringing its coastal facilities closer to the high standards enjoyed before the April 2022 floods.
"We remain committed to ensuring safe, welcoming, and world-class beach experiences for all residents and visitors during the festive season and beyond."
The city assures residents and visitors that the beaches are safe for swimming.

The festive season attracts thousands of beachgoers to the Durban coastline, famous for its golden sands and warm waters. As families and friends gather to celebrate, the safety of these recreational spaces becomes paramount.
