Verulam resident left hungry after thief steals chicken curry pot and stove

A TRENANCE Park resident experienced an unusual theft when an opportunistic criminal stole a pot of freshly cooked chicken curry along with the gas stove while the homeowner briefly stepped inside.

Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) reported that the brazen theft occurred in broad daylight.

This unappetising theft is raising eyebrows and leading locals to ponder the state of security in their neighbourhood.

According to RUSA, the homeowner had been enjoying a peaceful day cooking in his yard, whipping up a delicious pot of curry.

However, when he briefly stepped into the house to turn on the radio, the pot of curry and gas stove had vanished.

The resident, who wanted to remain anonymous, stated that he did not witness anyone entering his yard.

“I went inside, and when I came back, everything was gone,” he recounted, still astonished at how quickly the thief had worked.

The man said he now worried about safety in his yard.
