ONE lucky person has bagged the historic PowerBall jackpot valued at more than R178 million, following a modest investment of just R15.
The momentous win occurred during yesterday's draw, marking a pivotal point in the life of an unidentified winner.
The winning ticket was purchased via the FNB banking App, using a Quick Pick selection, proving once again that anyone, anywhere, with just a small wager can change their life overnight.
"This remarkable win now officially ranks as the second-largest National Lottery jackpot in South African history, cementing Powerball’s status as the country’s most thrilling game," said Ithuba, the operator of the National Lottery in a statement.
The current record remains the R232 million PowerBall jackpot won by a Cape Town resident in February 2019.
What the winner can expect next: as the ticket was played via a banking platform, the winner will be contacted directly by their bank to notify them of their incredible win. To safeguard the winner and ensure a smooth and secure payout process, the jackpot must be claimed in person at the Ithuba head office, where the winner will be guided every step of the way by Ithuba's winner services team.
