A SECURITY guard, 64, has been arrested after a deadly confrontation on a Durban street left a 43-year-old man dead.
Police told IOL on Friday that the incident unfolded on Thursday, February 19, on David Webster Road.
What began as a confrontation escalated rapidly, ending in gunfire and a life lost.
South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda confirmed the suspect's arrest.
"Reports indicate that the suspect had approached the victim who was urinating alongside the road and an altercation ensued, leading to the shooting," Netshiunda.
It is alleged that the man was shot seven times.
The suspect is currently being held at the Durban Central Police Station and is expected to appear in court soon as the murder case proceeds.
