ASHAY Sewlall was crowned this week’s Head of House (HoH) on day 43 of Big Brother Mzansi and with it comes immunity.
The Big Brother contestant earned the title after winning Monday night’s HoH challenge.
The competition, held weekly, tests housemates through physical or mental tasks, with the winner receiving power and privileges for seven days.
As HoH, Sewlall now takes on several responsibilities. He is expected to lead the housemates during the weekly wager task, help maintain order, and provide guidance where needed.
Success in the wager task brings rewards such as improved meals and extra luxuries. If the task fails, housemates may face reduced supplies and punishments.
One of the HoH’s key benefits is immunity.
Sewlall is safe from nomination and eviction this week, ensuring his place in the house regardless of upcoming voting outcomes.
With the new position comes a change in living arrangements.
Sewlall has moved from the shared bedroom into the private HoH suite, which offers added comfort and privacy.
He selected fellow housemate Bravo B to share the space. The choice sparked discussion among viewers, as the suite often allows for private conversations away from the rest of the house.
In a surprise move, Big Brother reintroduced the “Untouchable Pick”.
“Ashay, this means, over and above, choose a housemate that you would like to invite as your guest,” Big Brother announced.
“You must also pick a second person you feel should be this week’s untouchable pick.”
The Untouchable Pick requires the HoH to choose one more person who will be completely safe from nomination or eviction for the week.
After a tense pause, Sewlall chose The Don, who narrowly survived eviction the previous week.
The decision was seen as both supportive and strategic, potentially strengthening alliances while reshaping the week’s nomination picture.
As he is often viewed as a quieter presence in the house, he now finds himself in a position of authority and protection.
