A property manager offered a rent-free flat in return for his freedom after being intercepted by the RTI team from Pinetown, travelling at 206km in a 120km zone.
According to the KZN Department of Transport on its Facebook page, the lease on the flat was 12 months, and the offer was "rejected".
"This property manager drove along the N3 toward Mariannhill and behaved as if the freeway was his property..."
The motorist exceeded the speed limit, clocking 206 km/h in a 120km/h zone, and drove without a number plate to avoid detection. Both violations, said the department, were illegal.
"The MEC for Transport and Human Settlements, Siboniso Duma, said arrest all reckless drivers.
The department also reported that four women were driving under the influence of alcohol.
Relating one incident, the post read: "A motorist, who is a teacher, demands to know where is his Polo. His friend who is heavily drunk sings about Russia."
