Several gunshots were heard during strike action in Riverhorse Valley in Durban on Friday.
Metro police issued a warning on its social media page that the incident had turned volatile.
"Motorists and the public are urged to avoid the vicinity. Law enforcement is monitoring the situation," said metro police in the statement.
Frank Preen wrote in the comments: Those are automatic weapons discharged in public. Five year sentence.
