They were allegedly kidnapped from their home in Newark on the North Coast of KwaZulu-Natal  last Tuesday. Their bodies were discovered in a secluded area near Melmoth the next day.

The family's funeral was held on Sunday at the Stanger High School Sports Ground in Newtown.

Among those present at the funeral was KwaZulu-Natal Premier Thamsanqa Ntuli.

While addressing the grieving family, he said those who commited such heinous acts often lived among us, and it was a collective responsibility to isolate them, report them to the police, and ensure that communities are safe.
