Privi Makhan, the DA's mayoral candidate for KwaDukuza, was at the local magistrate's court on Tuesday morning with fellow DA members.
They are standing in solidarity with the bereaved family of seven family members - Alan and Sandy Monswamy, along with their children Kraidon and Shamarie, plus relatives Cliffy Padayachee, Mooniamma Padayachee and Mariamma Appanah - from Newark who were killed last Tuesday.
Members of other political parties are also scheduled to arrive at the courthouse.
Three men accused of the killing are expected to appear in court today.
