Join the Phoenix Child Welfare from May 29 to June 7, for the highly anticipated Charity Fair, at the Rydalvale Grounds, celebrating 50 years of community spirit while raising funds for vulnerable children and families.
This annual event will also commemorate the five decades of growth and development in the Phoenix community.

Sham Maharaj, co-ordinator of the Charity Fair, said the event remained one of the organisation’s most important fundraising initiatives.
“As our flagship fundraising initiative, the fair plays a critical role in sustaining vital services for vulnerable children and families.”

The 10-day fair promises a vibrant entertainment line-up aimed at attracting visitors of all ages. Popular attraction Chetty’s Fun Fair will once again feature larger and more thrilling rides, while a variety of food stalls and live entertainment are expected to create a festive atmosphere throughout the event.
The official opening takes place on Friday, May 29 at 6.30pm with the Charity Queen Competition, an initiative focused on encouraging community participation while raising funds for the Phoenix Children’s Home.

Entertainment on opening night will include a performance by the Kumari Shiksha Dance Institute followed by additional live acts.
On Saturday, May 30, music lovers can enjoy a performance by the Bollywood Fusion Band. Earlier that evening, soccer fans will be able to watch the UEFA Cup Final live on a big screen from 6pm.

The programme continues on Sunday, May 31, with a Senior Citizens Party at 10am, recognising and honouring the contributions of elderly residents within the community.
A special Birthday Bash for individuals turning 50 will take place on Friday, June 5 at 6pm. The evening will also feature a Mixed Martial Arts showcase at 8pm and an Entertainment Spectacular at 9pm.

Visitors attending on Saturday, June 6, can look forward to a lively performance by the Bollywood Showband, while the final day of festivities on Sunday, June 7, will begin with the Check Save Kids Party at 10am. The fair will conclude at 7pm with entertainment by Flash Entertainers.

Maharaj encouraged residents to support the initiative and help make a difference in the lives of children and families in need.
“The charity fair not only celebrates 50 years of the Phoenix community but also provides a meaningful opportunity for residents to contribute towards improving the lives of children and families in need,” he said.
