AS DIRECTOR of Phoenix Child Welfare, it is both a privilege and a moment of deep reflection to be part of Phoenix’s 50-year milestone. This significant anniversary is not only a celebration of the community’s rich history, but also a testament to the strength, unity, and progress that have defined Phoenix over the decades.

From its early beginnings, Phoenix has grown into a vibrant and dynamic community, and we are proud that Phoenix Child Welfare has been part of this journey, supporting and strengthening families and protecting the well-being of children.

For many years, Phoenix Child Welfare has remained committed to delivering essential services to vulnerable children and families. Through our social work interventions, prevention and early intervention programmes, and community outreach initiatives, we continue to respond to the evolving needs within our community. Our work is grounded in compassion, professionalism, and a firm belief that every child deserves a safe and nurturing environment in which to grow and thrive.

Our annual charity fair stands as a highlight on our calendar, bringing together the community in a spirit of generosity and shared purpose. It is through initiatives like these that we are able to raise vital funds and awareness, ensuring the sustainability of our programmes and services. The continued support we receive for the charity fair reflects the strong sense of community ownership and commitment to making a difference in the lives of those in need.

We also remain dedicated to the ongoing support of the Sahara Shelter and the Children’s Home, which provide safe spaces for children who require care and protection. These facilities play a crucial role in offering stability, care, and hope to children facing difficult circumstances, and we are grateful to all who contribute towards maintaining these essential services.

As we reflect on our journey and look towards the future, I extend my sincere gratitude to our board of management, our dedicated staff, our selfless volunteers, and our valued stakeholders. Your unwavering support, commitment, and passion make our work possible.

Together, we will continue to build on the strong foundation of the past 50 years, ensuring that Phoenix Child Welfare remains a pillar of support for generations to come.
