Trial date has been set for Fannie Malope Seribishane who was arrested by police for the brutal murder of Limpopo nurse, Mumsy Seribishane.

Fannie Malope Seribishane, the 57-year-old man, accused of brutally killing a nurse, is set to undergo trial in the High Court in Limpopo.
Seribishane was served with an indictment to appear before the Polokwane-based court from August 4 until August 8, facing charges of murder, domestic violence, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition.
“Members of the provincial tracking team, together with the murder and robbery unit, arrested the 56-year-old man for the brutal murder of a 52-year-old female victim at Lebowakgomo policing area,” said police provincial spokesperson in Limpopo, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba.
“On October 23, 2024 at about 5pm, the female nurse by profession met her untimely death while she was on her way to work at Lebowakgomo Hospital.”
The woman succumbed to gunshot wounds sustained next to the gate of the medical facility.
Following the incident, a murder case was opened at the local police and the case was immediately transferred to the provincial detectives unit for further investigations.
On Wednesday, November 13 2024, an intelligence-driven operation was executed and resulted in the apprehension of a 56 year-old male suspect while at Lebowakgomo Zone A. The accused also opted not to apply for bail during his appearance.
“During the arrest, the suspect was found in possession of a police firearm with ammunition reported stolen at Seshego precinct during the month of June 2024. Police also seized a Volkswagen Golf 7 vehicle believed to be used in the commission of the crime,” said Ledwaba.

In October, IOL reported that the Democratic Nursing Union of South Africa (Denosa) in Limpopo called on police to probe the fatal shooting of the nurse, after she was gunned down at Lebowakgomo Hospital.
The woman was gunned down moments after disembarking from a taxi, and was walking towards the hospital's gate.
At the time, Kapudi Moagi, provincial health spokesperson in Limpopo said the nurse was shot and killed a few meters from the gate of the hospital.
Moagi confirmed to IOL that the nurse was Mumsy Seribishane, 52, who was working as an enrolled nursing assistant in the female surgical ward in the hospital.
He said the perpetrator allegedly approached her and shot her on the spot.
