Durban - A 19-year-old man died when his motorbike collided with a car in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, on Thursday morning, paramedics said.

After the collision, the motorcyclist lost control of the motorbike and hit the pavement at the intersection of Francois and Nicholson roads, Rescue Care spokesman Garrith Jamieson said in a statement.

He was declared dead on the scene. Police were investigating.
