Durban - An elderly woman was killed and 18 people were injured when two taxis and a car collided on the N2 south of Durban, paramedics said on Friday.
Netcare 911 spokesman Chris Botha said the woman died at the scene as paramedics attempted to save her life.
Four people were seriously injured and 13 others sustained minor injuries.
KwaZulu-Natal Road Traffic Inspectorate spokeswoman Zinhle Mngomezulu said two lanes on the N2 near the former Durban International Airport, in the Prospecton industrial area, had to be closed as emergency personnel cleared the accident scene and police began investigations. - Sapa
