Model and businesswoman Sonia Booth has taken a bold step forward, choosing to share her personal journey and the profound lessons learnt after her high-profile split.

In her appearance on the captivating new show Untied, shared alongside hosts Relebogile Mabotja, Nonku Williams, and Palesa Madisakwane, Booth opens up about her healing process, hoping that her story resonates with women everywhere.

"I want for them not to believe the facade of a happy and wholesome life just by observing from the outside," Booth remarked, emphasising the importance of transparency in a world rife with curated social media images.

"For them not to envy. You want the greener grass? Better have the stomach for the amount of manure it comes with.”

Reflecting on the impact of sharing her story, Booth asserts, "It definitely has [played a role]. Sharing my story is part of my journaling process, and journaling heals."

The conversation turns to the necessity of open dialogues among women in today's world.

"It's important for women to have these conversations because social media has unearthed phoney and pretentious behaviours. We need to talk about real lives and daily struggles behind our smartphones. She asserted, "These are the lives without the filters."

The candidness encourages introspection and self-awareness, reminding everyone that, “till it happens to you”, one cannot fully comprehend another’s struggle.

Booth also advocates for robust support systems among women, encouraging them to "be there for each other, listening with great veneration and not judging." She stresses that everyone's journey is unique, and unsolicited advice can often be unhelpful, especially in distressing times.

Booth believes that the show offers vital insights into red flags that individuals might have missed in their lives, thus saving them from future distress.

"On Untied, you can watch Nonku Williams, Palesa Madisakwane and now me share our stories with honesty and vulnerability, like you've never heard before.”

With a series of notable guests set to grace the show, such as reality star Beverly Steyn, celebrated actresses Dawn Thandeka King and Mona Monyane, along with media personality Zandi Nhlapo, Untied promises to be a profound exploration of the transformative experiences women undergo after love fades and life alters in unforeseen ways.
