South African tennis is set for a major visibility boost. A new partnership will see Discover Sport become the official streaming partner of Tennis South Africa (TSA), just in time to broadcast the Davis Cup clash between South Africa and Morocco on September 13 and 14, 2025.

The newly announced three-year partnership aims to revolutionise how local fans connect with the game by live-streaming South Africa’s top tennis competitions and bringing untold athlete stories to screens nationwide and beyond. From grassroots tournaments to elite fixtures like the Davis Cup, the collaboration marks a turning point in tennis coverage and access in the country.

At its core, the partnership is about expanding access, increasing visibility, and driving meaningful impact in South African tennis. With the sport often underserved in traditional media, this collaboration aims to restore consistent coverage by live-streaming a full calendar of tournaments and sharing content with mainstream broadcasters.

The streaming platform, officially launched on September 2, 2025, after a successful pilot earlier this year, was created to spotlight underrepresented sports and provide federations, athletes, and fans with the tools to grow, connect, and build sustainable followings.

Stephen Watson, founder of Discover Sport, says: “Our role has always been clear: we are here to enable. Tennis South Africa has incredible athletes and competitions, and our purpose is to give them the stage to connect more fans with the game, and to use technology to make tennis more visible than ever before. We believe sport has the power to unite and inspire. This partnership is a step towards creating a more inclusive sporting landscape in South Africa and beyond.”

For TSA, this partnership represents a vital moment in the growth of the sport. Beyond its elite competitions, the coverage will profile athletes, tell their stories and build a stronger, more sustainable following for tennis across all communities.

Anthony Moruthane, general manager of TSA, says: “This partnership marks a new era... It’s not just about broadcasting matches, it’s about telling our players’ stories, inspiring communities, and building a legacy of visibility and opportunity for generations to come. Tennis has incredible potential in South Africa, and we are already on an exciting upward trajectory. But for the sport to truly flourish, we must reach as many South Africans as possible. This partnership provides us with a powerful platform to do just that.”

What can the fans expect?

As part of the partnership, plans are underway to launch a monthly magazine-style show, a bite-sized production that will recap key highlights, feature player profiles, and offer exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the world of South African tennis.

“This initiative will serve as a cornerstone of tennis storytelling in South Africa, bringing fans closer to the players and competitions they love. All the while, it allows us to stay true to our mission of social impact,” says Watson.

In addition, the partnership will support the live streaming and production of South Africa’s premier tennis competitions, including:

  • ITF World Tennis Tour Events
  • Davis Cup (World Cup of Tennis)
  • Junior National Championships and Junior Masters
  • Rising Star Tennis National School Championships
  • National Club Championships
