Palmview Primary School's under-13 boys volleyball team recently dominated their division, defeating all competitors with precise serves, strategic plays, and unwavering focus at the recent Phoessa Games and KZN District Tournament.

The Phoessa Games showcases the top players from Phoenix primary schools.

The team continued their success, thereafter winning the KwaZulu-Natal District Tournament title. They competed against Stanger Primary - winning 15-8 in the first set and 15-9 in the second.

On Friday, Volleyball South Africa (VSA) and KZN officials visited Palmview Primary to award the players gold medals. The delegation included VSA President, Adil Khan; secretary, Kriba Jayaram, and technical director, Donavan Nair.

At the event, Khan emphasised the importance of sports and the role of teachers in motivating pupils despite limited resources and finances, particularly in public schools. He also shared VSA’s vision to establish the school as a hub for primary school volleyball.

The team's coach, and teacher, M Moodley, said: “These young athletes have shown incredible heart and discipline. Their performances reflect their hard work and the strong bond they have built.”
