Dewald Brevis of Pretoria Capitals says a prayer after reaching his hundred during the final of the Betway SA20 season 4 between Pretoria Capitals (PC) and The Sunrisers Eastern Cape (SEC) held at the Newlands Cricket Stadium in Cape Town, South Africa on the 25th January 2026.

Following the Sunrisers Eastern Cape's record third Betway SA20 title, Ongama Gcwabe highlights the plays of the match from the season four final at Newlands on Sunday.
A century that will be talked about for years. Having arrived at the crease with the score on 8/2 inside the opening two overs, Brevis displayed immense maturity.
He not only absorbed the pressure but fought fire with fire, bringing up 101 off 55 balls. The 22-year-old smashed seven maximums and eight boundaries to help the Pretoria Capitals reach 158/7 — a competitive target in difficult batting conditions.
More over, an in-form Brevis is a boon for the Proteas, who start a three-match T20I series against the West Indies on Tuesday, followed by their ICC Men's T20 World Cup campaign, which starts against Canada in early February.
Big partnerships win cricket matches, and the Matthew Breetzke-Tristan Stubbs stand was a perfect reminder of that. The pair combined for an unbeaten 114 runs for the fifth wicket partnership to seal the Sunrisers' third title.
Breetzke stood his ground with a vital 68* off 49 balls, while Stubbs anchored the chase with 63* of 41 balls.
After winning the toss and opting to bowl, the Sunrisers needed early wickets.
Marco Jansen and Lutho Sipamla delivered, taking a wicket apiece with the new ball. The quicks dismissed Connor Esterhuizen and Shai Hope, leaving the Capitals in trouble at 8/2. Esterhuizen nicked off to the keeper, while Hope picked out short cover as the Sunrisers took control from the outset.
The slog-sweep is a go-to for many, but for Stubbs, it meant more.
Having entered the tournament searching for form while carrying the burden of captaincy, the slog-sweep he played to win the match stood out. It was a shot that signaled his return to form and showcased the character that likely prompted Proteas coach Shukri Conrad to call him up for the T20 World Cup squad earlier this week.
Jansen enjoyed one of his finest T20 outings, taking 3/10 in four overs and bowling 15 dot balls.
However, his most significant contribution was the 19th over, where he got the better of Dewald Brevis. By removing the destructive batter before the final over, he ensured the Capitals' total remained within reach.
