Boland fast bowler Glenton Stuurman’s 17th First-Class five-wicket haul put the hosts firmly in control as they enforced the follow-on against the Titans on Day Three at Boland Park in Paarl on Saturday.

Stuurman (6/61) had already ripped through the Titans' top order late on Day Two, claiming three wickets in the evening session. He picked up where he left off the following morning, striking three more times to complete his six-for and bowl the visitors out for 366 in the third session, handing Boland a commanding 204-run first-innings lead.

Despite Stuurman’s brilliance, the Titans found some resistance through Donovan Ferreira, who smashed a 140-ball 123, and Dayyaan Galiem, who compiled an unbeaten 110 — his second First-Class century — to give the innings respectability. Leg-spinner Shaun von Berg (4/95) offered excellent support, chipping in with four wickets.

At stumps on Day Three, the Titans were 39/1 in their second innings, leaving Boland nine wickets away from victory, while the visitors will be banking on batting out Day Four to salvage a draw.

In Gqeberha, the Warriors remain favourites after a strong Day Three showing against Western Province. Matthew Breetzke (66) and Muhammad Manack (53) anchored the Warriors’ second innings as they set a competitive target of 352.

In response, Province openers Eddie Moore (49) and Jiveshan Pillay (53) put on an 81-run stand, blunting the new ball for over 25 overs against a Warriors attack spearheaded by Duanne Olivier and Matthew Boast. But just as the visitors looked comfortable, Breetzke turned to his spinners, and the game shifted dramatically.

Left-arm leg-spinner Thomas Kaber (3/23) broke the stand with a sharp return catch to remove Moore before striking twice more to dismiss Joshua van Heerden (6) and Valentine Kitime (13). Part-time spinner Jordan Hermann (1/14) chipped in with the key wicket of Pillay, caught at slip by Patrick Kruger.

At stumps, Province were 133/4, still needing 220 runs to win, with Daniel Smith (5*) and Mihlali Mpongwana (5*) at the crease. The Warriors require six more wickets on the final day.

In Potchefstroom, the clash between North West Dragons and Tuskers is heading towards a draw after persistent rain hampered play. The Tuskers posted 399 in their first innings before Dragons opener Lesiba Ngoepe led the reply with a superb 226-ball 154, his fifth First-Class century.

The hosts closed Day Three on 370/5, just 29 runs behind, with both sides now likely focused on maximising bonus points as the match drifts towards a stalemate on Day Four.
