"Gutted" Dolphins lose out on T20 final to Warriors

Khaya Zondo was unable to lead the Dolphins to CSA T20 play-off success as they were unlucky on Friday evening, getting knocked out of the CSA T20 Challenge on an account of rain and points.

The Hollywoodbets Dolphins were unlucky on Friday evening, getting knocked out of the CSA T20 Challenge on an account of rain and points.

The Dolphins faced off with table leading Warriors in Port Elizabeth in a wet encounter that lasted 5.3 overs.

 The game was unable to continue, forcing officials to call off the game. In the end, a winner was decided on points, and the Warriors consistency throughout the tournament booked their seat in the final.

The Warriors, who finished 4 points ahead of Dolphins on the CSA T20 table, shared their jubilation shortly after. 

"We qualify after finishing higher on the log ,now it all comes down to this," The Warriors wrote on social media.

Judging by their statement on social media after the game, The Dolphins were in anguish. 

"Unfortunately, rain has the final say in Gqeberha and with that brings the end of an absolutely thrilling T20 Challenge campaign from our Hollywoodbets Dolphins heroes.

 "We are absolutely gutted as our Hollywoodbets Dolphins showed immense skill, heart and guts throughout this campaign. Hard luck, Team! We are so proud of you all! Thank you for the entertainment and inspiration," the Dolphins wrote. 

The Warriors will now face off with Boland, who occupy the second place on the table, on Sunday.

The Warriors will have a second chance to beat Boland, after losing to them on Wednesday. 

Paarl, in Cape Town, will play host to the much anticipated T20 Challenge final in what is expected to be a thrilling final.
