FC Barcelona concluded their Asian Tour with a commanding 5-0 victory over K-League side Daegu, showcasing a performance that has heightened expectations among fans ahead of the upcoming competitive season.
The match, played in front of a large crowd, saw goals from Gavi (2), Robert Lewandowski, Toni Fernández, and Marcus Rashford, as Barça demonstrated their prowess on the field.
The game began with Barcelona exerting dominance, and it was no surprise when they took the lead in the 20th minute.
Lamine Yamal played a pivotal role in the build-up, delivering a precise pass to Gavi, who finished with a shot from the edge of the penalty area. Yamal’s performance was particularly noteworthy, as he consistently created opportunities and displayed confidence and skill throughout the match.
Barcelona’s control over the game was evident, with their passing and movement leaving the Daegu defence struggling to keep up.
The second goal came from a swift exchange of passes, culminating in a well-timed assist from Gerard Martin to Lewandowski, who calmly slotted the ball past the goalkeeper. By the time Gavi scored his second goal with a clever chip just before halftime, the match was effectively over.
In the second half, manager Hansi Flick made significant changes to the lineup, yet the team’s performance remained strong. Toni Fernández added to the scoreline, with a combination play involving Dani Olmo and Rashford leading to the goal.
Rashford himself scored the fifth goal, converting an assist from Eric García to mark his first goal for Barcelona.
Despite the heavy rain, Barcelona’s depth and quality shone through, with the team maintaining their composure and control throughout the match. The only downside to the performance was an injury sustained by Pau Cubarsí near the end of the game, which may be a concern for the upcoming season.
As Barcelona prepares to return to Catalonia, the team will look forward to their next match against Como 1907 in the Gamper Trophy. The Asian Tour has provided valuable preparation and showcased the potential of the squad, leaving fans eager to see how they perform in competitive fixtures.
