The PSL premier domestic season has come to an end. As a result, a number of player movements are expected during the off-season transfer window.

Clubs will be eager to offload underperforming players and bring in fresh talent to help them achieve their aspirations in the new campaign, which is set to get underway in August. That’s why Independent Media's Mihlali Baleka looks at three players who must leave their current clubs and seek greener pastures.

Sipho Mbule – Mamelodi Sundowns

Mbule is one of the most talented players in the PSL top flight, but his ill-discipline has hindered him from realising his full potential over the years.

Sundowns loaned him to Sekhukhune United last season. Although he started well, reports soon emerged that he had been suspended before being officially released. He has since returned to his parent club in recent weeks, but with his contract expiring in June, it appears unlikely that he will sign a new deal at Sundowns.

Sphesihle Mkhulise – Mamelodi Sundowns

Mkhulise rose to prominence after being promoted to the senior team by then-coach Pitso Mosimane a few years ago.

However, following Mosimane’s departure, his influence faded as he struggled for consistency under former coaches Rulani Mokwena and Manqoba Mngqithi, and now under incumbent coach Miguel Cardoso. Having made just 23 appearances this season—mostly as a substitute—Mkhulise would benefit from finding a club where he can become a regular starter and revive his career.

Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo – Orlando Pirates

Ndlondlo is one of the most tactically gifted players in the top flight, capable of delivering precise passes in the final third. However, his off-the-ball movement remains a concern, with his defensive contributions often leaving much to be desired—effectively making the team one man short when out of possession.

Former coach Jose Riveiro may have left, but whoever takes the helm is likely to build on his foundation. That could mean there is still no place for Ndlondlo in the squad moving forward.
