Pitso Mosimane’s son Reatlegile "Rea" Mosimane has reportedly been making waves during recent trials with Italian giants AS Roma.

According to reports, Reatlegile, who turns out for Kaizer Chiefs Under-14s, has been undergoing trials in Italy with a number of other youngsters.

This comes on the back of 9-year-old Ikenna Tladi securing a place in Roma’s academy last week.

Speaking to Soccer Laduma, Jorge Abong from Rojo Soccer Agency said: "Ikenna Tladi has officially signed for AS Roma. We have organised trials for Rea Mosimane. Last month he did well and the club is interested in signing him.”

Abong added that another youngster, Shamir Mattera who was attached to SuperSport United, has also been turning heads, and has been invited so the club can take another look at him.

“We have organised for Shamir Mattera from SuperSport, he has been invited to join the club for pre-season at the end of July. The scouts from Europe were here and they were impressed with Tladi before he travelled to Italy with his mother to finalise the deal.

“He is now an AS Roma player."

The three players are not the only young South African footballers making waves in Europe.

Last week, IOL Sport reported that Chelsea had completed the signing of Benoni-born Camden Schaper from Blackburn Rovers for a record R14 million.

The attacking midfielder’s exploits have seen him garner interest from the biggest clubs in England like Manchester CityArsenalLiverpool, and Manchester United which IOL Sport reported two months ago.

Schaper began his youth career at SuperSport United. It was there that his exploits first began to make headlines, most notably in the Under-11 side’s tour to Spain in 2021.

After relocating last year to England, Schaper began the next step in his journey with Blackburn.
